Promotions

The following are the standards and eligibility requirements for promotion in the FCRC. IAW FCRC 600-1 Para. 3-2, promotion criteria. The following is also subject to time in grade (TIG) and position vacancy. If a test is failed Rifleman must wait one month to take the test again.

 

Grade E-1 to E-2
a. Requirements:
i. Have at least four (4) months in grade as E-1
ii. Have no more than three excused absences in the four months prior to promotion.
iii. Have no AWOL’s in the four months prior to promotion.
iv. Have satisfactory attendance at P.T.
v. Attend at least three Field Training Exercises in the four months prior to promotion.
vi. Be recommended.

b. Performance Test:
i. Know firearm safety.
ii. Report to an officer or NCO indoors and outdoors. Video
iii. React to an approaching officer or NCO indoors and outdoors.
iv. Recite the three General Orders.
v. Demonstrate knowledge of military time.
vi. Perform individual drill movements. Attentionrest positionssaluting, Facing movements and Guidon Procedures.
vii. Identify OfficerEnlisted, Warrant Officer ranks and Addressing the Different Ranks.
c. Written test: N/A

Grade E-2 to E-3
a. Requirements:
i. Have at least four (4) months in grade as E-2
ii. Have no more than three excused absences in the four months prior to promotion.
iii. Have no AWOL’s in the four months prior to promotion.
iv. Have satisfactory attendance at P.T.
v. Attend at least three Field Training Exercises in the four months prior to promotion.
vi. Pass the Physical fitness test.
vii. Be recommended.

b. Performance Test:
i. Know all task in the E-1 test.
ii. Know firearm safety, Clearing AR-15 Rifle, Load, Unload, Correct Malfunctions of an AR-15 RiflePerform a Function Check and Field strip the AR-15 Rifle.
iii. Recite the phonetic alphabet and number system.
iv. Evaluate a casualty, Perform Mouth-to-Mouth Resuscitation, Put on a Field Dressing, Pressure Dressing and (Tourniquet – do not try on a person) and Prevent or Control Shock
v. Know Grooming standards
vi. Recite a S.A.L.U.T.E. Report
vii. Know how to Camouflage Yourself and Your Individual Equipment
viii. Explain Challenge and Password
ix. Know US Army infantry organization.

c. Written test: N/A

Grade E-3 to E-4
a. Requirements:
i. Have at least six (6) months in grade as E-3.
ii. Have no more than five excused absences in the four months prior to promotion.
iii. Have no AWOL’s in the months prior to promotion.
iv. Have satisfactory attendance at P.T.
v. Pass the FCRC Physical Fitness Test.
vi. Attend at least three Field Training Exercises in the four months prior to promotion.
vii. Be recommended

b. Performance Test:
i.  Know firearm safety, Clearing AR-15 Rifle, Load, Unload, Correct Malfunctions of an AR-15 RiflePerform a Function Check, Field strip the AR-15 Rifle. and another weapon of the candidate’s choice.
ii. Explain move under direct fire (IMT)
iii. Explain Squad organization, formations and movement techniques.
iv. Explain battle Drills #1: Conduct Platoon Attack , #2: React to Contact#3: Break Contact and #4: React to Ambush.
v. Prepare a Radio for operation and Perform Voice Communications.
vi. Lead a squad in drill and ceremonies.
vii. Know unit history.
xi. Test may also include anything from the E-3 promotion test.

c. Written Test:
i. 100 question test
ii. List the five major terrain features on a map
iii. Locate a given point on the map
iv. Explain heat injures
v. Explain cold injures
vi. Explain SALUTE
vii. Explain METT-TC

Grade E-4 to E-5
a. Requirements:
i. Have at least eight (8) months in grade as E-4
ii. Have no more than six (6) excused absences I the eight months prior to promotion.
iii. Have no AWOL’s in the eight months prior to promotions.
iv. Have satisfactory attendance at P.T.
v. Pass the FCRC physical fitness test.
vi. Attend at least seven field-training exercises in the eight months prior to promotion.
vii. Be recommended.

b. Performance Test:
i. Perform test will included all test for E-3 and E-4
ii. Must be able to correct/help a Rifleman on any element of the E-3 to E-4 promotion tests.
iii. Report to an officer or NCO indoors and outdoors.
iv. Perform a 9-line MEDEVAC.
v. Equipment Layout (TA50) inspection.
vi. Explain uniform and grooming standards.
vii. Explain unit mission statement.
viii. Recite the five (5) paragraphs of an operations order.
ix. Demonstrate a satisfactory level of responsibility as a leader for at least two months prior to promotion.
x. Demonstrate a satisfactory level of reliability in meeting deadlines and completing assigned duties.
xi. Demonstrate leadership on field training exercises.
xii. Demonstrate knowledge of all FCRC equipment.
xiii. Demonstrate map reading and land navigation skills.
xiv. Demonstrate field skills.
xv. Must have the ability to instruct red and amber level classes.
xvi. Must have the ability to lead P.T.

c. Written Test:
i. Test will be based on any items of the FCRC form 118.
